Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Thanks to Objective’s leading edge search capabilities and Police cooperation across the country, West Australian and Tasmanian Police have found the evidence needed to charge a suspect for a string of serious and previously unsolved crimes.
On receiving an urgent request for information on a suspect being held in custody in Hobart, the WA Police (WAPOL) Crime Files Co-ordination Team was able to take to action immediately. Using the limited information supplied, the team used Objective to find unsolved case information and, by using additional Objective search technology, was able to compile a comprehensive portfolio of information about the suspect. The various case files were quickly linked in Objective, physical documents located and converted to PDF and all information provided electronically to the Tasmanian Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). The turnaround time to complete the request was just 38 minutes, resulting in a number of serious charges being laid against the suspect. Police say more charges are pending the suspect’s extradition back to WA.Feedback from Hobart CIB was very positive and the result would not have been possible without Objective's ‘intelligence’ capability. WA Police say several other suspects have also been charged for various unsolved crimes using the same methodology and cold case data, courtesy of WAPOL’s Objective solution.
