With the Minkaku OpenSearch Plugin, users can swiftly browse the Minkaku database for site-specific Firefox add-ons by using the Firefox Navigator Toolbar located on the upper right-hand side of the browser screen to conduct a keyword search.
Note to Editors
"Minkaku", released earlier on November 10, 2006, is a user-content oriented database that collects information about what Firefox add-ons users have downloaded. Users submit their add-on information by opening "Tools" on the menu bar at the top of the screen and selecting Minkaku. A ranking of the most popular add-ons submitted to the Minkaku's server is continuously updated and is accessible here. Together with the rankings are direct links to each add-on's description and download sites, making it possible for anyone to quickly increase their Firefox performance.
In addition to Japanese, Minkaku can be viewed in English, German, Chinese, and Korean. As of March 5, 2007, "votes" from Minkaku users in over 100 countries and territories have been tabulated, containing information on more than 2,000 Firefox add-ons.
