HEDLOC™ Proudly Supports the Canberra Special Children’s Christmas Party

The Canberra Special Children’s Christmas Party is the largest Christmas charity event held annually in Canberra, this years event was no exception. Over 1000 children from the Canberra region, with physical or intellectual impairment, terminal illness or severe financial hardship, filled the venue at Exhibition Park on Saturday 13 December. Hundreds of volunteers were on-hand to ensure that every child experienced the joy of Christmas for 2008.

Becoming a major sponsor of the event this year, HEDLOC™ was eager to support such a worthy charity. Having established many successful years of business in Canberra, with continuing support from it’s Federal Government Customers, HEDLOC’s involvement on the day gave the HEDLOC™ team a wonderful opportunity to give back directly to the Canberra community and put a smile on the faces of some very deserving children.

Live entertainment was provided by many local and national artists. The children were treated to a funfair of rides and activities, motorcycles, cars and refreshments, all of which were contributions made by community and business. A friendly police presence was also seen on the day, including Santa’s impressive entrance in a police car. Officers participated in the activities and it was great to see them having a laugh with the children.

“Santa’s Present Cave” was where much of the action happened on the day. With toys piled high, the HEDLOC™ team were a part of the gift giving frenzy to children of all ages. “Some of the presents were larger than the children and, with each child receiving at least three presents, they required assistance to make it out the door. The kids were so excited, one three year old boy attempted to perform a handstand to demonstrate his gratitude” commented Bruno Pisano, Managing Director, HEDLOC™. The room was abuzz with happy faces and feelings of appreciation. This is what the spirit of Christmas is all about and HEDLOC™ was proud to be part of the days activities.
Special thanks to CSCCP staff Donna Bowen, Jessica Louis and Nathan Lester for all their help and support.
