A slew of companies have announced their participation in the new Google Cloud Partner Program.

Google has launched a partner program to encourage the adoption of cloud computing, specifically the company's own cloud apps and those from other providers that take advantage of the Google Cloud Platform.

There are two categories within the program: service partners (which provide consulting and implementation services) and technology partners (which offer products that run on or integrate with Google's platform.

Among the initial partners are Barbador, Informatica and QlikView.

Barbador is a services partner in the new program, and was already a Google enterprise partner.

The company will use its expertise to help clients develop new cloud-based systems using the Google Cloud Platform.

"The Google Cloud Platform offers a broad set of exciting application development, cloud storage, large scale computing, and big data capabilities that provides our clients with an opportunity to change the way they solve business problems in today’s fast, competitive and ever-changing environment," said Surinder Saini, Barbador's director of cloud services.
