Parallels Plesk Panel 11 is scheduled for release on June 26. A key feature is the inclusion of the nginx web server that gives better performance than either Apache or IIS, Parallels' president of marketing and alliances Jack Zubarev told iTWire. It also helps end-users create sites that are more easily used on mobile devices, he added.
Other changes include improved security (including improved password encryption), a Postfix mail server, support for Microsoft's free WebMatrix web development tool, and integration with popular payment gateways and domain registrars in the Asia Pacific region.
In a few months time, Parallels plans to release a product that will serve as a bridge between Parallels Plesk and Parallels Automation, the company's enterprise-oriented product. It will act as an add-on to Plesk, but provide access to almost all Parallels Automation functionality, along with a unified interface.
