ICT services provider, Dimension Data, has appointed a new chief of its Queensland operation as the company sets itself for strong growth in the Queensland market this year.
Dimension Data COO Ken Westwood said Andrew Fisher, the former sales manager, had been appointed Queensland state manager and would be responsible for spearheading the company's 'entire business of over 100 staff in Queensland as it prepares for strong growth in 2012.'
According to Fisher his initial focus will be on growing Dimension Data's key areas, especially cloud solutions and managed services, and he said there would be significant growth areas for Dimension Data throughout 2012, with 'very strong client interest in business solutions that can help protect data and intellectual property.' 'The recent flood disasters have had a real impact on the local community and driven a renewed focus on data protection.'
Rodd Cunico, CEO of Dimension Data Australia's systems integration business, said that Queensland was a 'booming business environment' and that Fisher was Andrew has 'perfectly placed to spearhead a very successful business.'
Prior to joining Dimension Data, Fisher worked for the Apollo Group and established operations in Canada, USA, NZ and Australia. He was also managing director at global IT service provider Touchbase, with responsibility for Australia, New Zealand and India.
