Finnish company, Miradore, an enabler of automated IT and mobile device management services, has just launched a new fully integrated device management solution for all major mobile and IT platforms.
The new cloud-based Miradore management suite allows for centralised control and management of iPads and iPhones, other tablets and smart phones, laptops and desktops, all via a single dashboard.
Miradore CEO, Kristian Järnefelt, said the company's integrated approach to IT and mobile device management 'clears the way for the BYOD era (Bring Your Own Device) to become mainstream in organisations of all sizes.' According to Järnefelt, already a reality in many organisations, 'device diversity has put IT management against the wall to find an efficient way to manage heterogeneous devices and ensure data security.'
'Integration of PC lifecycle and configuration management with Mobile Device Management is a prerequisite for efficiency. A single management dashboard directly responds to the pressing need of IT staff to allow for and comply with device diversity. We've all seen how the new breed of devices boosts productivity and enhances communication, especially while travelling and working out of office. Our goal is to enable the BYOD shift to happen. Simply put, we make device diversity manageable.'
Miradore's software suite consists of integrated tools for remote IT device lifecycle and configuration management. Asset and performance data are automatically gathered at configurable intervals, ensuring an up-to-date view of devices and applications used in the network. Järnefelt says applications or packages are easily distributed to end devices and installed at users' convenience. 'The new sophisticated policy and configuration management functionalities for major mobile platforms bring IT staff efficient means to maintain control of diverse devices.'
According to Järnefelt, Miradore streamlines IT management processes and eliminates a large share of manual work, with the cloud-based management solution integrating all end device management functions across a variety of devices, used and monitored via a single, unified dashboard.
The new Miradore release adds support for iPhone, iPad and Windows Phone devices on top of the existing Android and Symbian mobile devices. The combined IT and mobile management solution also covers Windows-based servers and workstations, Apple OS X for Mac, all major distributions of Linux, together with other IT assets and retail point-of-sale terminals.
Delivered as a cloud service through managed service providers (MSPs), Miradore flexibly scales up and down, and Miradore says it increases the operational efficiency of MSPs by bringing 'real-time visibility and control into their multi-customer IT infrastructure through a single unified solution.'
According to Järnefelt, end users benefit from additional peace of mind and anti-theft protection, as the new release enables remote locking and wiping of lost or stolen mobile devices. 'End users have access to Miradore's Self service portal that allows them to easily check and update information concerning devices under their responsibility, without a need to contact IT support.'
