Iomega's latest StorCenter PX NAS devices are aimed at SMEs and distributed enterprises (eg, branch offices).


With four and six-bay desktop models and a four-bay rackmount version, the Iomega StorCenter PX is available with 0 to 18TB (six 3TB drives) of installed capacity. They can be configured with 2.5 or 3.5in hard drives, or solid state drives for higher performance. RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 5+1 (hot spare) and 6 are all supported, with automatic RAID rebuild and hot swap functionality.

Other hardware features include a dual-core Intel processor, 2GB of memory, dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces,

Software features include cross platform (Windows, Mac, Linux) file sharing with simultaneous iSCSI block access; support for Active Directory, MSCS and Hyper-V Live Migration; and support for up to 12 Axis IP security cameras.

The StorCenter PX is certified for VMware vSphere 4.0, Citrix XenServer, and Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2.
