Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Hard drive manufacturer Seagate has issued a statement revealing that the company plans to release a 1 Terabyte hard drive in the first half of 2007. Seagate has been shipping products with 750GB of storage capacity, currently the highest available, since April 2006.
According to Seagate, the 1TB hard drive will be
its second generation 3.5-inch hard drive to feature capacity-boosting
perpendicular recording technology, and it will use fewer heads and
discs than similar-capacity products from its competitors. The Seagate
1TB drives will have four high density platters of 250GB each.
Seagate claims that fewer heads and discs, along with perpendicular
technology, can increase drive reliability, and also reduce operating
temperatures, power consumption, noise, and weight.
To date, Seagate has shipped more than 10 million 3.5-inch hard drives
with its perpendicular recording technology in the PC, enterprise, and
consumer electronics markets.
