Cisco has established The Cisco TelePresence Advanced Technology Provider (ATP) Program which already has 23 partners around the world. The program is "focused on helping partners provide the expertise, intellectual property and lifecycle services capabilities necessary to deliver the Cisco TelePresence experience."

Cisco claims that TelePresence Meeting has been developed from the ground up with 25 patents pending. It is available in two versions for large and small meetings. The Cisco TelePresence 1000 is designed for small group meetings and one-on-one conversations, as well as emerging applications like the 'virtual assistant' and is billed as being "ideal for use in executive offices, hotel lobbies, bank branches and medical offices."

The Cisco TelePresence 3000 is designed for meetings of 12 people or more around a virtual table and is "ideal for executive round-tables and staff meetings, as well as general employee, customer and partner collaborative meetings." The Cisco TelePresence 1000 has a list price of $U79,000 and the Cisco TelePresence 3000, $US299,000. Both products are expected to b available in December 2006.

Both products are designed for use over a Cisco-powered network incorporating Cisco's Service Oriented Network Architecture (SONA). Cisco says it is best delivered over a Cisco-certified TelePresence network connection and it is developing a program through which service providers can attain TelePresence network certification.  AT&T and Verizon Business are the first two service providers to offer TelePresence Meeting.
