ExpressPod is Cisco and NetApp's unified computing product for small and medium-sized organisations that are moving towards virtualisation. ExpressPod combines Cisco UCS C-Series servers, NetApp FAS2220 or FAS2240 storage, and Cisco Nexus 3048 switches.
A variety of management software and hypervisors can be used with ExpressPod.
ExpressPod will ship in November from Cisco and NetApp partners.
Turning the the enterprise market, changes have been made to the companies' FlexPod unified computing product.
FlexPod now supports VMware vSphere on NetApp Data ONTAP 8 operating in Cluster-Mode, allowing the creation of massive and hugely scalable storage pools that span storage devices yet can be securely isolated to support multi-tenancy. This feature also allows nondisruptive data migration of hundreds of virtual machines at a time to facilitate load balancing, system maintenance and device upgrades without interrupting applications, company officials claimed..
