The Matrox MX02 Dock connects to a Thunderbolt port to provide USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet and HDMI interfaces.

The Matrox MX02 range of video hardware provides broadcast-quality input and output for use with major editing software, all in a portable enclosure.

"MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are powerful enough for many Matrox MXO2 users but they can be uncomfortable to use all day in the edit suite," said Wayne Andrews, product manager at Matrox.

So the company has announced the MX02 Dock, which connects to the Thunderbolt port on a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.
There's a USB 3.0 port for connecting high speed peripherals, two USB 2.0 ports for other peripherals such as a keyboard and a mouse, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and an HDMI port.

"The new Matrox MXO2 Dock increases productivity by adding screen real estate and brings much-needed expandability for USB 3.0 storage, control surfaces, optical drives, and other peripherals," added Mr Andrews.

The MX02 will ship in 4Q12. Prices have yet to be announced.

Matrox products are available in Australia via New Magic.
