WD's latest My Passport for Mac drives feature a USB 3.0 interface for faster data transfer when used with recent MacBook and MacBook Air models.

Apple's latest notebooks are equipped with USB 3.0 interfaces, and storage vendor WD has similarly updated its My Passport for Mac external drives.

"Today's mobile consumers are looking for fast, safe, compact and reliable ways to access and transport their digital files," said Ralf San Jose, director of product marketing for WD's consumer storage products group.

"My Passport for Mac with USB 3.0 adds the convenience of a very fast USB connection that includes added security features that mobile consumers need when away from home.

"Adding all these benefits with an unmatched industry capacity of 2TB provides the perfect solution for the demanding Mac customer."

My Passport for Mac is available in three capacities: 500GB ($119), 1TB ($159) and 2TB ($299).

WD provides a three-year limited warranty.
