If you’re holding an event about one of Google’s most important products, Google Analytics, it’s clearly going to be an even bigger, better and bolder event when you’ve actual Googlers in attendance to compère and keynote alongside the already announced list of speakers.
That event is the Sydney Google Analytics User Conference, news of which we previously broke on the 26th of July, with the event itself happening on the 28th of September.
The conference is a “one day opportunity to network with end-users and learn the latest and creative ways to employ Google product features from analytics experts and Googlers”, and is being hosted by two top Google Analytics-certified partners: Loves Data and Internetrix.
Google Analytics is an astoundingly popular and free tool that anyone with a website can use to see exactly how their site is performing in real time, and with that knowledge, you’re able to receive “rich insights into your website traffic and marketing effectiveness”.

Now comes news of exactly which Googlers are locked in to present, keynote and compère the event, with the hint of perhaps even more to come, given that the first three Googlers are presented as being the “first instalment”.
So, who are the Googlers in question, and which parts of the Google empire are they coming from?
Getting top billing is Justin Cutroni, who clearly more than cuts the mustard with his title of Google’s Analytics Advocate. An experienced web analyst, author and blogger, we’re told he “works closely with executives to help them understand how they can leverage web analytics and online data to improve their business”.
As you can imagine, Mr Cutroni is also an “active participant in the web analytics community”, not only publishing the blog “Analytics Talk” and authoring an impressive three books on Google Analytics, but also having been nominated in 2011 for the Innovator of the Year award by the Web Analytics Association.
Mr Cutroni’s qualifications don’t end there – before joining Google, he was a “web analytics consultant” with top shelf clients such as “Toyota, Sony Music, Universal Music, the National Hockey League, Wells Fargo, and PapaJohns”.
Next up on the list of Analytical Googlers is a local: Peter Evens, the Google Analytics Specialist for Google Australia.
As you can imagine, Mr Evans is part of the “global Google Analytics team”, and he supports top clients and agencies across Australia and New Zealand, working with their web developers, marketers and executives to help them implement, analyse and make data-driven decisions using Google Analytics.
Before he joined Google, Mr Evans worked in research in the telco industry and impressively “received the University Medal for Optoelectronics from Macquarie University, Sydney”.
Last, but certainly not least on the list of Googlers is Timo Josten, the Google Partner Program Manager based in Singapore, who will serve as the “Master of Ceremonies”.
Mr Josten is another member of the Google Analytics team and “manages the Google Analytics Certified Partner program in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia”, having joined Google over four years ago.
He manages partnerships with a “diverse group of companies, such as ad agencies, content developers and global consulting companies”, and at Google, he works closely with “product, marketing and sales, driving growth and impact of the Google Analytics partnerships”, while also having a notable history of his own, working in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and London.
