Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion will be released "tomorrow" (July 25, US time).

There have been plenty of rumours surrounding Mountain Lion's release date, most recently that it would arrive on July 25 (US time), the day after Apple announced its Q3 results.

That prediction turned out to be right on the money.

While announcing the results, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company "will release Mountain Lion tomorrow".

Apple has already revealed that Mountain Lion will be available from the Mac App Store for $20.99. Mountain Lion Server will be an additional $20.99.

Those who purchased a "qualifying" new Mac from Apple or one of its authorised resellers on or after June 12 will be able to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion at no additional cost.
