Canon has announced a pair of new large-format printers offering output up to 36in wide at up to 2400x1200dpi.
According to Canon officials, the iPF765 and iPF760 (replacing the iPF755 and iPF750) are designed for use in a variety of areas including CAD, GIS, AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) and retail signage as well as general office use where large output sizes are required.
Common features include a horizontal stacking basket to keep A1 output flat, front loading of media and ink so the printer can be installed against a wall, access control, and accounting functions to help estimate the cost of printing each job for recharging or billing purposes.

The iPF765 includes a 250GB hard drive to help meet the needs of those printing complex images or sharing the printer among multiple computers.
"The update to the imagePrograf printers represents Canon's dedication to companies in the large format printing market," said James Casey, Canon Australia's sales and marketing manager for large format printers.
"Canon has taken an award-winning solution in the imagePrograf series and listened to our customers on how we could improve it. With the flatbed stacking we have now enhanced the user's productivity and efficiency making these devices a natural fit to meet customer demands."
Pricing has yet to be announced. The iPF765 and iPF760 are expected to ship later this month.
