Google has launched a new service to assist with the dispatch and coordination of mobile workers.

Google Maps Coordinate helps organisations track and manage mobile workers.

Those mobile workers use either a web app or mobile app to share their current location (the service integrates with Google Indoor Maps, which provides floor plans of semi-public areas such as airports and malls) and record data captured in the field.

The dispatcher function shows the locations of those mobile workers and allows them to be organised into teams (eg, those with similar skills). It also allows the creation of jobs, which can then be assigned to the closest member of the appropriate team.

It also provides for the analysis of historical data to help decision making about staff numbers and locations.

Google Maps Coordinate includes an API for integration with other software.
