HP has announced new models in its ProLiant Gen8 server range, featuring Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron processors.

New ProLiant Gen8 servers from HP cover the needs of small businesses and branch offices through to high-density data centres.

The new lineup includes rack, tower and blade configurations. The Xeon E5-2400 based models comprise the DL360e (1U), DL380e (2U), ML350e (tower), and BL420c (blade).

The models based on the Opteron 6200 series are the DL385p (2U), and BL465c (blade).

HP also announced that it will add Xeon E5-4600 based models to the ProLiant range in August.
