Although the original iPhone app was created for the company by an outside developer, the new apps were built by the company's R&D teams in New Zealand and San Francisco. The project took around 60 days, Mr Daniel said.

"It's never going to replace the desktop [completely]," he said, as the desktop software has very strong reporting features. But a mobile app is great for people that need real-time information about their fleets.

Presently, the mobile app is iOS only, but "we're looking at [Android]," Mr Daniel said.
