Common features include a 5.7in touchscreen, 1200dpi monochrome laser printing, one to four 550-sheet cassettes, colour scanning with duplex ADF, 10/100 Ethernet, and the list of options includes a stapler/finisher, pedestals for free-standing use, and additional USB interfaces.
Members of the 1700 series are compatible with Canon's uniFLOW management software and e-Maintenance service. They can also be managed via a built-in web interface or in larger installations through the imageWARE Management Console.
"The Canon imageRUNNER 1700 series fills a need for small to medium-sized businesses that may be looking to consolidate their older copiers, faxes, scanners and printers with one high performing, compact device but who still want something that is scalable as their business grows," said Jeremy Plint, assistant general manager marketing, Canon Business Imaging Australia.

Users can securely access the system over their network and meet all their network printing, scanning, copying and faxing needs and it goes beyond traditional printers by supporting USB media.
