Kroll Ontrack updates PowerControls

The latest version of Kroll Ontrack PowerControls allows the recovery of individual items from Outlook snapshots.

Kroll Ontrack PowerControls email recovery software provides a mechanism for recovering individual mailboxes, messages, folders, attachments and other elements from existing backup files.

The newly released version 6.1 features VSS support for Exchange 2007 and 2010, allowing recovery of individual items from backup snapshots. Support is also provided for SharePoint Server 2010.

Also new is an improved version of ExtractWizard, which allows restoration of data from disk or tape backups to an alternative location. The currently supported backup systems are Netbackup, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, CA ARCServe, EMC Networker, HP OpenView Storage Data Protector, CommVault Galaxy, Ultrabac, Symantec BackupExec and Microsoft NT Backup.

"According to a June 2011 survey of existing Ontrack PowerControls customers, over a quarter of respondents routinely use the Ontrack PowerControls tool to save over 50% of time managing their environments," said Adrian Briscoe, general manager - APAC.
