An eight-channel architecture and USB 3.0 provide read speeds up to 225MBps and writes at up to 135MBps. The device is backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports, but the speed drops to 30MBps read/write on USB 2.0 (all figures are as quoted by Kingston).

"Enthusiasts have long known HyperX as the memory of choice for overclockers and power users who need the most performance from system memory," said Nathan Su, Kungston's Asia Pacific region flash memory sales director. "The new DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 USB Flash drive continues this tradition. With the fastest speeds and largest capacity, this storage device is the perfect solution for users who require high performance and carry a lot of data."

Available immediately, the DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 costs $190 (64GB), $367 (128GB) or $846 (256GB). It comes with a five-year warranty.
