MYOB and PayPal are aiming to make it easier for Australian small businesses to get involved with ecommerce.
"These enhancements to MYOB Atlas and the Getting Aussie Business Online initiative [between MYOB and Google] provide further incentives for small businesses to establish an online presence, open their brands to new markets, and tap into global ecommerce growth," said MYOB CEO Tim Reed.
Payment for online transactions is collected via PayPal. "MYOB Atlas enables businesses to create a professional and appealing online retail experience with very little start-up investment, and importantly it allows these businesses to immediately sell through their websites," said Frerk-Malte Feller, managing director of PayPal Australia.
According to MYOB officials, MYOB Atlas will be fully integrated with the company's forthcoming cloud-based business platform which will include all the functionality of MYOB AccountRight.
Early MYOB Atlas adopter Hans Van der Donk of Orara Valley Beef Jerky said "The website is easy to use and was easy to set up. As soon as the PayPal function came in, we had a few sales."
And Andrea Souter of Day Craft, a retailer of notebooks, sketchbooks and diaries, remarked "the PayPal function was extremely easy. I was very surprised. I had no issues with it."
Think again. Most businesses only have PART of a DR plan - and this spells business disaster in the event of an IT disaster.
