OS X Lion 10.7.1 fixes Safari video issue and more

We're getting used to upgrades to Apple's (Mac) OS X operating system are closely followed by minor updates to fix issues that somehow slipped through the cracks. Lion's proving no exception, with 10.7.1 appearing overnight.


Roughly three weeks after Apple released OS X Lion, the latest version of the operating system for the Mac, the company has pushed out the first update to fix various issues.

In addition to the usual reference to general fixes for stability and compatibility, Apple has called out four specific areas addressed by Lion Update 10.7.1. They are:

an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari;

an issue that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out;

an issue that prevents transfer of your data, settings, and compatible applications to a new Mac running OS X Lion; and

an issue that could reduce the reliability of Wi-Fi connections.
