Alliance Contracting signs new ERP deal

Business IT - Technology

Civil and mining contracting company, Alliance Contracting, has chosen IFS Applications to support rapid business growth, increased workload and growing complexity of the organisation.

Peter Bell, Chief Financial Officer at Alliance Contracting, believed that their ageing and disparate systems no longer catered for the company's expansion. 'Working across multiple databases meant not only the duplication of data and manual work but also the increased risk of mistakes. Our existing systems could not cope with the volume of data and transactions we were making on a daily basis.

After reviewing a number of alternative ERP solutions, Alliance Contracting selected IFS Applications as its new ERP platform. The fully integrated ERP system from IFS will have a particular emphasis on project control and reporting - critical functions in engineering companies - as well as cover finance, procurement, HR and recruitment, payroll, maintenance planning and execution and tendering. Alliance Contracting expects the IFS system to be scalable as they are planning future growth.

'IFS had better functionality across all divisions, coupled with extensive knowledge working with other project-based companies like ours. Above all, IFS has a very intuitive and user-friendly interface, as well as component-based modules that will enable us to continue to expand the system as we grow" said Bell.

Rob Stummer, Managing Director at IFS Australia and New Zealand, commented that 'Our experience working with companies in the construction and engineering industry definitely played a large part in our success with Alliance Contracting. The investment we have made building a strong team in Western Australia is paying off and we're looking forward to capitalising on future opportunities in this industry.'

The deal between Alliance Contracting and IFS was signed earlier this month with the project scheduled to start shortly.
