Travel itinerary data stored in TripIt can now be accessed by Concur's expense claim software.
Concur has integrated its expense claim software with the TripIt Pro travel service. All itinerary data stored in TripIt Pro is now available to Concur, whether or not the bookings originated in Concur Travel or another service or travel management company. In particular, it means 'unmanaged' travel expenses (those incurred directly by the traveller without corporate intervention) can be easily included.
"Thousands of Concur clients already enjoy one integrated travel booking and expense reporting experience," said Concur president and COO Rajeev Singh. "Now, by leveraging the power of the Concur Connect Platform to integrate TripIt Pro with Concur's automated expense reporting, it's possible for companies of any size - and any style of travel management - to have complete visibility into all of their travel spend. For the first time, companies can now leverage itinerary data from any source and then apply robust policies and sophisticated workflow - all through one seamless solution."
Michael Eberhard, executive vice president and general manager of Concur's Asia Pacific operations, told iTWire the new integration "save the traveller a lot of time" as well as making more information available to their company. Data about unmanaged travel bookings can be used to negotiate better rates, he said.
"This is one of the first integrations of an enterprise application with a consumer application," he said, noting that both TripIt and Concur were designed for integration through APIs, and that both companies aimed to provide a platform rather than just an application.
