Listed-Australian IT group, TechnologyOne (ASX: TNE) has had a more than a three-fold increase in revenue, new customers and employees for its Human Resource & Payroll product since releasing reconfigured software three years ago.
According to TechnologyOne's general manager human resources & payroll, Iain Rouse, the company is expecting even more demand for the software as Australia and the rest of the world emerges from the GFC and enters a 'renewed skills shortage.'
'During the GFC we saw an increase in demand for e-services to cut administrative workload, such as those enabling employees to manage their own leave balance and timesheets,' Rouse said.
'In the last few months, our customers have indicated that employee retention has once again become a top priority, so HR managers are looking for incentives such as training and development.
'An automated IT solution is the logical way for HR managers to ensure they have the information they need at their finger tips to foster and maintain a positive culture.'
According to Rouse, almost 200 organisations in four countries, including the Samoan Government, The Salvation Army, and new customer, Careers Australia, have bought the solution, and the company says it is attributing its success to acting on customer feedback and investing heavily in research and development.
Rouse's comment is seemingly endorsed by Simon Hayes, a systems administrator from Great Lakes Council, who chairs a state-wide user group for NSW local government, who maintains that the TechnologyOne Human Resource & Payroll solution is a 'particularly strong product in the marketplace because the company worked so closely with its customers.'
'Having TechnologyOne involved with our user group means we can give regular feedback about our software needs and issues, and we actually see a result,' Hayes said, adding that Great Lakes Council had been able to 'cut one day per week from the time it dedicates to processing payroll by using
TechnologyOne software.'
