MYOB is preparing to launch a relatively simple - though search engine optimised - web site hosting service by the end of the year. "The primary reason for having a web site is to be found," observed Molloy, who described the initial product as being like a "Facebook for business."

The company plans to progressively add functionality to the service, for example by giving users the ability to show their current stock levels on their site.

MYOB's AccountRight products (the new name for the company's desktop software range) will also connect to the LiveAccounts cloud database from March or April 2011. These products will combine the advantages of a rich desktop client (eg, for the entry of relatively large amounts of data) with those of online data storage. The company is spending $A70 million over the next three years on this online strategy, said Molloy.
