Elcom boosts CommunityManager.NET integration

Business IT - Technology

Elcom's CommunityManager.NET web content management system now integrates with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and HP TRIM.

Sydney-based Elcom has enhanced its CommunityManager.NET web content management system to integrate the management of multiple repositories and to allow the editing of stored documents with Microsoft Office.

CommunityManager.NET interoperates with Microsoft's widely used SharePoint and with HP TRIM, one of the most popular document management systems among government organisations.

"Today's businesses are faced with multiple content repositories across online and offline platforms and there is currently little integration between these platforms," said Elcom product director Anthony Milner.

"Businesses are refreshing web content offline and then republishing to the internet leading to a duplication of effort, especially given the sheer volume of data created by modern organisations," he explained.

Changes in version 7 help overcome this problem. The Microsoft Office connector allows users to access and edit web content from within Microsoft Office and save it directly back to a CommunityManager.NET site, or to edit Office documents within CommunityManager.NET.
