TextFlow revision management joins Google Docs

The document comparison tool TextFlow, already available as a Box.net extension and an Adobe Air desktop application, is now integrated with Google Docs through the Google Apps marketplace.

As with its Box.net and desktop siblings, TextFlow for Google Docs offers a powerful way to compare multiple versions of a document and choose which revisions to keep.

Upon going to Google Docs, a TextFlow subscriber can choose the services from the "more" menu at the top of the screen.

Upon doing so, they're presented with a list of their documents and choose one to review in TextFlow. A screen opens up with all the versions of that document listed to the side, and one or more can be selected to compare.

Again, as with the other versions, the user then sees the document stripped of its formatting and with graphics represented as thumbnails (all of which will be restored upon saving), with alternate edits presented in color-coded bubbles for review. They can accept or reject each edit by clicking its checkmark or X.

TextFlow for Google Docs costs $99/year with a 14-day free trial, just like the Box.net version. For the rest of May, however, the price is only $49/year.
