Office 2010 prices set

Business IT - Technology

Australian retail pricing for Office 2010 has been announced by Microsoft.

Following the release to manufacture of Office 2010, Microsoft Australia has announced prices for the retail versions that will ship in June.

Since US pricing was announced back in January, there are no real surprises. But Microsoft has now confirmed that it will be possible for Australian customers to purchase a licence ('product key card') to unlock a copy of Office 2010 that was preinstalled on a new PC.

There's no word yet on which manufacturers will participate in this scheme.

Microsoft will offer three retail versions of Office 2010 in Australia:

Office Home and Student 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote), $A209, key card $A169

Office Home and Business 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook), $A379, key card $A269

Office Professional 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access), $A849, key card $A499

There is some 'fine print' involved, so please read on.
