Grandstream GXE502x OKed for Skype for SIP

IP telephony vendor Grandstream Networks' GXE502x series and related devices have been certified for used with Skype for SIP.


Skype for SIP allows interoperable PBXs to use Skype for incoming and outgoing calls while retaining PBX features such as call routing and voicemail.

Interoperability testing of Grandstream's GXE502x series IP PBX and related gateways with Skype for SIP has been successfully completed.

The GXE502x is designed for SMEs with fewer than 30 seats per location.

"Achieving interoperability with Skype for SIP gives Grandstream's customers another powerful tool for improving their communications, accelerating business growth and reducing calling expenditures by leveraging Skype's vast user base worldwide," said Grandstream CEO David Li.

"We are excited about our partnership with Skype and will support Skype on a range of products in the future," he added.
