NetComm router provides broadband backup

Business IT - Technology

NetComm has introduced a two-port load balancing router designed to give a small business redundancy in its broadband Internet access by supporting two discrete services simultaneously

The NB750 supports two separate broadband (DSL) services and shares traffic equally between the two but provides uninterrupted operation if one service fails.

It also enables the user to specify how Internet traffic is shared across a network. For example, if a company's marketing department is a heavy Internet user it can be allocated a greater proportion of the bandwidth. The NB750 provides one LAN port which allows the unit to be connected either directly to a desktop PC or to a switch. It incorporate a denial of service (DoS) firewall and has a QoS function that allocates bandwidth to specific applications or determines which Internet connection the traffic should go through. So for example all VoIP traffic could be directed over a business grade service and a low-cost service used for browsing and email. It sells for $495 including GST.
