Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
UK-based Rod Cambridge developed the Top-Tens app for the iPhone and iPod touch earlier this year. Appropriately enough, it achieved a top ten position in the App Store's paid Reference section.
Priced at $US1.99, Top-Tens displays top ten lists from a variety of fields, including books, movies, phishing scams, places to visit in various cities.
But Cambridge is taking a six-month sabbatical, so he's decided to sell the program outright.
"Top-Tens requires minimal maintenance (less than one hour) once per week to do things like add new categories suggested by users," he said.
"In addition, Top-Tens may require code updates - and so I've concluded it's best to make sure the app goes to a good home before I jet off!"
To use Cambridge's phrase, "the whole kit and caboodle" is up for sale: source code, images, and web site (including domain name and supporting databases). He's even offering to provide technical support and backup as needed to ensure a smooth transition to the new owner.
With five days left to run, the auction had attracted 24 bids at the time of writing, but the high bid of £205 was still below the reserve.
