Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission issued a statement approving of Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Apple Computer's decision to part ways, but warned that they're still paying attention.
As reported yesterday , Apple (in the voice of Steve Jobs) announced that Schmidt would be leaving his position on the Apple Board of Directors.
The announcement pointed to the increasing overlap between Google's and Apple's business ventures -- specifically, Google's Android phone operating system and upcoming Chrome OS.
But the divorce, amicable or otherwise, is not in itself enough to end government scrutiny.
The Federal Communications Commission was already looking at the Apple-Google-AT&T nexus as it relates to Apple's decision to reject Google Voice apps for the iPhone.
Now the FTC, while expressing satisfaction with Schmidt's departure, has said they're not going away.
"We have been investigating the Google/Apple interlocking directorates issue for some time and commend them for recognizing that sharing directors raises competitive issues, as Google and Apple increasingly compete with each other," said Bureau of Competition Director Richard Feinstein in an official statement .
But, Feinstein continued, "we will continue to investigate remaining interlocking directorates between the companies."
