Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
All you iPod users out there - what happens if that little slick gadget of yours turns out to be defective, explodes and you ask Apple for your money back?
London's The Times newspaper reports that ane man whose 11-year-old daughter went through just this experience and did what any man would logically do - seek a refund - found that he had to pay for it with his silence.
Yes, believe it or not, Apple would only offer this man, one Ken Stanborough of Liverpool, England, (coincidentally of Beatles fame - remember the Apple connection?) his £162 back if he signed a settlement form saying he would keep mum about the settlement.
And in the ultimate act of chutzpah, the company's proposed settlement would have left Stanborough open to legal action if he disclosed the terms!
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is one of those kind and considerate souls who has devoted his time since he left the company - though he still is on the rolls and does some promotional activities for Apple - to educating children in computer use.
It would be interesting to know what he thinks of this attitude which embodies the very worst of human nature. Remember this is an iPod belonging to an 11-year-old kid.
Stanborough, quite rightly, refused to sign the letter, and spoke out in detail to the The Times.
Go there, gentle reader, and read this wonderful exposé about a company that preaches one thing and acts in exactly the opposite way.
