Alcatel & Cramer demo new triple play BSS/OSS

Business IT - Technology

UK software developer, Cramer and Alcatel have demonstrated a jointly developed BSS/OSS solution for IPTV that they claim will accelerate tier 1 operators' ability to quickly deliver and support next generation converged voice, data and video services.

Cramer will supply the unifying IT platform that will handle the design, assign and resource allocation components of service provisioning and content management, and will integrate with other components to deliver flow-through service fulfilment and real-time service assurance.

Cramer and Alcatel are demonstrating their solution at the Alcatel Operational Support Systems integration laboratory in Plano, Texas, concurrent to the TeleManagement World show being held in Dallas. The demo featured on-demand IPTV delivered over ethernet connections using the Alcatel 7330 ISAM FTTN, 7450 ethernet service switch, and 7750 service router, with Cramer involved with all aspects of service delivery, content management and service assurance.
