AVG goes free with 3

3 mobile broadband customers now receive a free 12 month subscription to AVG Internet Security.

The offer applies to both prepaid and postpaid plans.

"Access to Mobile Broadband has now become a day-to-day necessity for many consumers and small and medium businesses," said Klaas Raaijmakers, head of broadband at 3.
 
"Secure access and data protection is even more critical and we're committed to ensuring our customers can email, download and surf the Internet with the comfort that they are protected from online threats," added Raaijmakers.

Providing they are using Windows, that is - although that is where the main threat seems to be.

And by encouraging the use of security software, 3 reduces the likelihood of receiving irate calls from malware-infested customers complaining that they couldn't possibly have got through so much data.

The software can be downloaded via 3's My3 customer portal.
