Google launches Australian personalised homepages

Business IT - Technology

Search engine giant Google has introduced what the search company calls the Personalised Homepage in Australia which can be used to aggregate Google functionality and content from across the web.

To create a Personalised Homepage, users visit www.google.com.au/ig. They can then build their own Google homepage with content they choose, including Google News, weather, and feeds from various Australian sites such as ABC News, The Age, SMH, Crikey, and a range of other sites. The design enables users to drag and drop "sections" in order to arrange the page as they want. Once they've personalized their Google homepage - and here's the rub - users view it by signing in to a Google account. What a way to build a database for targeted advertising!
