F5 Networks, global application delivery networking vendor, has appointed a new managing director to head up its Australian and New Zealand operations.
F5’s VP, Asia Pacific, Song Tang Yih, today
announced the appointment of Kurt Hansen as MD for Australia and New
Zealand, responsible for overall business operations, sales, and
business development.
Yih says Hansen will focus on extending the company’s market-share in
the application delivery controller and data management markets, adding
that the market in this region continues to be “one of the most
sophisticated adopters of application delivery networking technologies,
and we believe that his in-depth industry knowledge and experience will
assist in maintaining F5's momentum in this region.”
According to Yih, the demand for Internet-based applications offered by
enterprises to their customers both in mobile and fixed environments
continues to grow, as does ”the data being placed in large and medium
enterprise storage environments.”
Kurt Hansen maintains there is enormous potential for F5 in this region
and he sees “a wealth of opportunities that allow us to collaborate
with customers to build agile IT infrastructures that ensure people,
applications and data can adapt to business changes”.
“This is a terrific value proposition given the current economic
pressures on our customers. The solutions that F5 brings to the
application delivery and storage markets allow CIO’s to implement a
total cost of ownership strategy, whilst improving infrastructure
robustness and the availability of applications to their customers.
It's a very exciting time to be a part of F5,” Hansen said.
Yih said Hansen had 20 years experience in the IT industry. Before
joining F5 he was managing director at AirData and prior to that in
sales positions with Telstra, Cisco Systems, and Ericsson.
