ASG flying high with new contract

Business IT - Technology

IT services provider ASG Group has secured a three-year, $8 million contract with Australia’s civil aviation regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority(CASA)  to provide ICT managed services support.

Under the initial three year agreement, ASG (ASX:ASZ) will provide services including help desk, desktop and mid range infrastructure support.  The contract has three two year extension options, potentially giving ASG a nine year engagement with CASA.

ASG chief officer sales & strategic operations, Murray Rosa, said today the signing of the contract with CASA follows other federal government projects recently secured by ASG with the National Museum of Australia, National Capital Authority, IP Australia, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and Airservices Australia.

Rosa said the company's federal region operation in Canberra had demonstrated strong growth during the 2009 financial year, and the contract with CASA reaffirmed ASG's ”unique position as the leading Australian IT managed services provider and clearly differentiates us in our chosen markets.”

According to Rosa the multi-year CASA contract would provide a significant boost to ASG’s revenue in the 2009 financial year and beyond, and he said the company was already in advanced discussions on other significant contracts and “well placed to secure additional work in the coming months.”

As Australia’s aviation regulator, CASA is responsible for ensuring the safety regulation of civil air operations in Australia and the operation of Australian aircraft overseas, and also provides comprehensive safety education and training programmes.

The contract follows other Federal Government projects recently secured by ASG with the National Museum of Australia, National Capital Authority, IP Australia, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and Airservices Australia.
