The Government has offered Australia's three mobile operators, and vividwireless, renewal of their existing spectrum allocated on 15 year licences in the late 90s and early 2000s at set prices, while the Government expects to rake in $3 billion.

Barnard quoted a recent mobility study by Aberdeen Group which he said showed that the top driver for enterprise mobility was to improve worker productivity, and that enterprise mobility can lead to a 40% increase in employee productivity, 35% improvement in customer satisfaction and 25% improvement in employee retention.
“Having a more efficient workforce, getting closer to your customers and having a more responsive organisation is widely understood, unfortunately current mobile BI offerings on the increasingly popular iPhone don’t reflect this,” Barnard claimed.
