Gotalk claims ‘step changing’ new technology

Trans-Tasman telco Gotalk is claiming a cost saving ‘step change’ with the release of new technology for small and medium sized businesses which combines a standard PABX system with broadband VOIP.

Gotalk claims its new service will lead to cost savings for SMEs of up to 65% on local, national and international calls, including calls to Australian mobiles, and CEO Steve Picton goes so far as to claim that the company’s new MultiLine VOIP service “will revolutionise” the way small and medium businesses make, and pay for, telephone communications.

“I believe in the current tough economic climate this new service will be extremely popular with SME owner operators looking for ways to control costs without compromising efficiency,” Mr. Picton said.

“For businesses with four lines or more, the new multiline VoIP service will change the way small and medium business customers make, and pay for, their local, national and international calls, together with calls to Australian mobiles with call savings of up to 65%.”

“Our service will allow SME business customers with a PBX to use the internet to make these same calls, with huge savings on call costs, while maintaining call quality even at times of high network usage.

Picton said businesses could achieve large savings because they no longer needed all their PBX trunks, and could enjoy low VoIP calling rates to local, national, international and mobile calling destinations.

He claimed Gotalk was making it easier for businesses to make large savings by replacing incoming PBX lines with a broadband connection.

“This reduces the monthly line rental cost of PBX lines, and enables large call usage savings to be made, by making VoIP calls instead of landline calls.”
