Pronto release major update of flagship ERP system

Business IT - Technology

Melbourne based enterprise software house, Pronto Software, have released a major new version of their flagship ERP product, dubbed PRONTO-Xi Phase 6. Included, among other features,  is greater integration with Microsoft Outlook and support for Google Analytics.

Pronto Software Managing Director David Jackman said, “PRONTO-Xi Phase 6 is by far our most significant release providing our customers with greater flexibility and personalisation capabilities. Our new Enterprise Intelligence suite empowers the user to use the technology the way they want and get the data they want, when they want – all without any programming skills.”

Key features include task intelligence, data intelligence, a new web solution and a message bus for interoperability.

Task intelligence allows system users to allocate tasks to themselves or others within PRONTO. These can be synchronised with Microsoft Outlook’s tasks (and from there to iPhones, BlackBerrys or other mobile devices.)

The data intelligence adds built-in wizards to facilitate the access, display and reporting of PRONTO-Xi data, optionally exporting data to a text file or spreadsheet. While this does not supplant the use of a dedicated business intelligence tool it does put greater analysis capabilities within the hands of the ordinary user.

A new web solution exists that provides both a content management system (CMS) as well as integrated payment gateway. The solution has been developed with Google Analytics in mind and is fully compliant with its requirements. This means company webmasters can use Google’s tools to inspect the site’s accessibility and ranking.

Meanwhile, to aid in the sharing of data between database and companies PRONTO-Xi now includes Pronto Message Bus, described by the company as “applistructure,” implementing a “publish and subscribe” methodology.

This message bus enables synchronising information in both directions, or simply publishing to subscribers.

As well as these new features many existing modules have been bolstered to improve efficiencies and optimise workflow, with improvements flagged for manufacturing, retail, supply chain, financials and facilities management.

As with previous versions of PRONTO, Phase 6 is available as a hosted product or in varying combinations of Windows and UNIX platforms and databases.
