Avaya teams up with HP ProCurve in IP telephony alliance

Business IT - Technology

Business telephony vendor Avaya is partnering with networking provider HP Procurve to offer IP telephony and unified communications solutions on the ProCurve ONE platform.

ProCurve ONE is a multi-vendor alliance program that offers enterprises a choice of pre-tested interoperable solutions that run on the HP ProCurve Switch 5400zl and 8200zl series.

Through the HP ProCurve ONE program, Avaya Communication Manager IP telephony software has been tested and certified for interoperability with the HP ProCurve line of products. At a live event in Sydney, Avaya and HP ProCurve demonstrated Avaya Communication Manager software and UC applications running on the new HP ProCurve ONE Services zl Module.

HP ProCurve previously announced compliance with the Avaya DevConnect developer program for the HP ProCurve 5400zl, 3500yl and 2600 Series switches.

“Through our strategic alliance with HP and the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem, enterprises, branch and mid-size customers can reap the benefits of easy-to-deploy, fully-integrated IP networking and Unified Communications solutions,” said Rosemary Durand, Director of Marketing, Avaya Asia Pacific.

“Global businesses are just beginning to reap the benefits from an HP ProCurve collaboration with Avaya that provides them with integrated design, implementation and support services,” said Marius Haas, senior vice president and general manager, HP ProCurve.

Avaya and HP say they are working with current channel partners in Australia to develop local relationships.
