He saw evidence that "that a significant Keynote update, perhaps a version update, not just a point-update (ie Version 5 rather than version 4.0.4) was on its way."

Among the new capabilities spotted by Posen were a "starburst" text reveal, a perspective effect with reflection, additional text transitions, and a "hula hoop" highlighting tool.

New versions of iLife and iWork usually coincide with the arrival of new Mac models, whether they are notebooks or desktops. On that basis, an iWork '09 debut sometime between now and January 2009 seems likely.

You really do have to admire the fact that Steve Jobs' presentations are such multi-layered events, as this iPod announcement and previous "Jobsnote" revelations clearly show.

After all, Jobs is always a man with a message, and it seems clear that not only are new iPod owners set to "rock", but Keynote fans will shortly, too!
