Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Major studios have allowed Apple and other movie download companies to begin offering movie purchases at the iTunes Store on the same day the title goes on sale on DVD - but only if you live in the US.
New release movies downloaded from the iTunes Store cost $US14.99.
Apple officials say two of the first concurrent releases are American Gangster and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
American Gangster available from Amazon on DVD for $US14.99 (but that's the two-disc extended edition) or as a download for $10.99. And where Apple offers new movies for purchase only, Amazon has a $US3.99 rental option.
But Amazon's price for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is $US18.99, and the movie does not appear to be rentable.
Studios covered by the iTunes agreement are 20th Century Fox, Disney, Warner Bros, Paramount, Universal, Sony, Lionsgate, Image Entertainment and First Look.
Previous practice has been to impose a buffer of four to six weeks between a movie's release on DVD and its availability as a download.
"We're thrilled to bring iTunes Store customers new films for purchase day-and-date with the DVD release," said Eddy Cue, Apple's vice president of iTunes. "We think movie fans will love being able to buy their favorites from major and independent studios."
