Adobe CS3 for rent

Business IT - Technology

If you need the full power of Adobe's Creative Suite 3 for the occasional project but can't justify the purchase price, a new rental option may be the answer.

Initially offered only in Australia, Creative Suite 3 Design Premium Subscription Edition costs $A199 per month on a pay-as-you go basis, or $A129 per month on a 12-month contract.

Peter McAlpine, Australia and New Zealand country manager at Adobe, said "the Creative Suite 3 Design Premium Subscription Edition allows communications professionals and designers to have access to the latest version of the industry’s leading design suite in a new flexible payment method."

Adobe will evaluate the success of this trial and user feedback before considering extending the subscription model to other parts of the world.

When purchased as conventionally licensed software, CS3 Premium (which includes InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash Professional, Dreamweaver and Acrobat Professional) has a street price around $A2400.
