Mac OS X 10.5.3 builds ticking along

Business IT - Technology

Developer builds of Mac OS X 10.5.3 are coming thick and fast.

The arrival of three builds - 9D10, 9D11 and 9D12 - in just over a week has the rumour mill hot to trot on an early release of the next version of Apple's operating system.

It seems there's only one known issue still to be fixed ("shutdown or restart may not complete in certain situations"), but developers are being asked to focus their on a couple of dozen areas, almost all of which are relevant to the typical user.

They include Address Book, AirPort (probably the area that has the most Leopard users complaining), Dashboard, Dock, DVD Player, Finder, graphics, Installer, Mail, Printing, Spotlight and Time Machine.

Over 100 items have been fixed already during the development of the update.
