Cisco collaboration subsidiary, WebEx, now supports the Apple Mac across the full suite of its collaboration services.
WebEx claims that "the expanded support for Mac OS X Leopard spans the entire Cisco WebEx collaboration suite to ensure Mac users receive the reliability, speed and support similar to what PC users enjoy."
These developments follow WebEx's
announcement in Januar y of Mac support for PCNow its on-demand remote access service that previously ran on PCs and wireless devices. It now supports PC-to-Mac, Mac-to-PC and Mac-to-Mac operation.
At MacWorld in San Francisco that month
Cisco said it believed the Mac was poised to significantly increase its penetration of the enterprise IT market. Announcing the latest developments, Ilan Kasaan, director of product management, Cisco WebEx, said: "You can't deny that the Apple Mac is becoming more prevalent in businesses; we have seen Mac usage double in the last year."
WebEx applications now supported on the Mac, under Mac OS X Leopard and Safari 3, include WebEx Meeting Center, WebEx WebOffice, WebEx Event Center, WebEx Training Center, WebEx Sales Center and WebEx Support Center now offer cross platform support for Mac OS X Leopard and Safari 3.
